The dream safari within the pearl of Africa

Possessing our negative Covid19 certificate and having Innocent Ampeire as our guide, it was time to leave Entebbe and driving to the land of mountain gorillas to experience the best of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park—the world heritage.

We had arrived at Entebbe International Airport early morning and rather exhausted but we had to stick to the plan. Well, according to the tour plan, we leave Entebbe and spend a night at Rwakobo rock safari Lodge in Lake Mburo National Park where we arrived in time for a night game drive with our first sighting being the leopard.

The next morning, we proceeded through the farm lands and beautiful sceneries driving through Kabale town and entered Bwindi Impenetrable National Park from the south sector of Ruhija and drove through the forest to Buhoma. Because we had a date with nature, we could stop and listen to the breathe taking sounds of nature from within the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable forest.

We were able to see a variety of endemic species of birds, monkey, red duiker, and also heard chimpanzees call from the forest. We checked in at Mahogany Springs Lodge in Buhoma a nature friendly midrange eco-lodge.

The next day we woke up early and had breakfast, then the lodge packed our lunch accompanied with a few liters of water that was needed to keep us hydrated. Our guide Innocent had confirmed our participating in Mountain Gorilla Tracking prior to arriving in Uganda.

We arrive at the visitors information center where we met Meddy a wildlife ranger guide that took us to our dream of experiencing Mountain Gorilla, we visited Habinyanja a group lead my Amakara (Silverback).

We hiked mountains, crossed valleys and we were lucky to meet the Gorillas after about only three hours. We were back from the forest in the evening with a lot of photos and videos. Each one of us received a souvenir in form of Certificate.

Amidst joy and happiness, we returned to Entebbe the next morning and crowned our Ugandan experience by visiting Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Lake Victoria—it is a paradise within the pearl of Africa where orphan chimps have put an end to their troubled past.

The saddest moment was saying goodbye to Innocent Ampeire a wonderful tour guide, he super exceeded our travel expectations.
